LAKELAND –  Square 1 Burgers Field at Bryant Stadium continues to be home sweet home for the Lakeland Tropics, who reeled off their fifth straight win of the Premier Development League Season with a 4-0 blanking of Weston FC Saturday night.

Team captain Ricardo Diegues scored two of Lakeland's ffour first half goals to give him seven for the season. Victor Rojas and Juan Tejada also found the back of the net, each for the third time this year.

Goalkeeper Jonathan Valerio posted his second shutout in three games as the Tropics improved to 5-1 on the season. He was credited with five saves.

Lakeland is in a tie for second place in the division with FC Miami City, which will visit Bryant Stadium for a June 24 showdown. But there is plenty of soccer for the Tropics between now and then, and all on the road.

That stretch starts Wednesday with a 7:30 kickoff in Tampa against the Rowdies U3, followed by a trip to The Villages SC next Saturday and a June 21 trip to play the South Florida Surf.
