Lakeland Tropics look to get back into USL League Two win column as Sarasota visits Saturday

by Brian Ackley

LAKELAND, Fla. -- The Lakeland Tropics will look to start a new winning streak Saturday night when they host Sarasota Metropolis FC in a USL League two matchup at historic Bryant Stadium. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.

The Tropics saw a two-game win streak snapped Tuesday in falling to first-place FC Miami City, 3-1, dropping Lakeland's record to 3-2-2 on the season. Sarasota opened the year with back-to-back wins over Weston FC, but are 0-4-2 since. Those two ties, however, came against two of the best teams in the division this year, The Villages SC and Treasure Coast Tritons.

This will be the first of two meetings between the clubs this year. The rematch will come Tuesday, July 9 at IMG Academy, the last of a four-game late-season road trip for Lakeland.

Saturday's game will be streamed live at www.mycujoo.tv. Tickets will be available at the gate. For more information, visit www.lakelandtropics.com, or call 863-240-0101.
