Tropics welcome familiar foe as FC Miami City invades Bryant Stadium Saturday night
LAKELAND -- The Lakeland Tropics will welcome a familiar USL League Two foe Saturday night at Bryant Stadium when FC MIami City comes calling for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
The Tropics have not lost this season, but have had to settle for draws in two of their first three games, including a 1-1 tie last Saturday against The VIllages SC in a rematch of the May 7 U.S. Open Cup game in Auburndale, won by The VIllages in the 10th round of penalties.
The Tropics, at 1-0-2, (five points) sit in fifth-place in the eight team Southern Division, while FC Miami comes in at 1-1-1 (four points) but have played less game than the rest of the teams in the division.
The Tropics are led by Kaz Kimura who has two goals on the year. Miami has three players with a goal each. Saturday's game will be streamed live at www.mycujoo.tv. Tickets will be available at the gate. For more information, visit www.lakelandtropics.com.
